About Me
Andy was born in Thessaloniki, Greece.
He earned his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Chemical Engineering from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in 2012, followed by a PhD from the same institution in 2018. Prior to 2024, he served as a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Aristotle University, working under the guidance of Professor Angeliki Lemonidou. He has recently been elected as an Assistant Professor at the School of Chemical Engineering at the National Technical University of Athens and currently, he is a collaborating associate at AristEng.
Since 2013 he has been working in the fields of reaction engineering and process intensification, particularly in developing novel concepts for converting natural gas into high–purity hydrogen in a single step with reduced carbon footprint. His work also encompasses processes related with heat storage using thermochemical cycles and CO2 capture and direct utilization – areas of significant industrial interest. His expertise includes materials synthesis, advanced characterization, reaction engineering and mechanistic studies employing bench scale experimentation, alongside preliminary process design, thermodynamic analysis and technoeconomic assessments.
